From the Desk of WBPLW, August 2026

by Halzikar

Solstice Slam was a great show. We had a lot of fun. Singles titles changed hands. Chippi won the Auxiliary title (WHEEEEEEEY). Lady Red stomped Iden into submission to win the Heavyweight title. Mochi Mecha critical’d to KO Victor Von Focht and end his historic run with the Twitch title. Hot damn, what a show, right?

And it crashed right after.

And that corrupted the save file.

Crow and I have worked to get it back to a decent spot, but it’s not operating how it was, so we’re still working on it. We’ll get it there, but I guess the question is why? Why put all that in instead of just starting over?

Well, the thing is I have about 750 hours in Fire Pro Wrestling World, and that’s pretty much all WBPLW stuff. There are character builds that took hours to work, and have been tweaked, and have been adjusted, and there’s the title history, and the matchups and the rivalries.

I’ve done several things on WBPL76 that were well-received. I started with Inscryption as my first outing and that went pretty well. West of Loathing and Shadows Over Loathing caused jokes and memes that are still around, in the shape of spittoon emotes and my crashout over a bowl of chili. (Are you kidding me?!)

But WBPLW is different. The viewers just love the show, and they show out for it. Something about this 9 year old game with janky mods, slapdash production, and three BPL members and more doing production support shouting over it just draws you in. And for REASONS BEYOND MY UNDERSTANDING, y’all start hype trains. (Why)

So, we’re going to hammer at this thing. We’re going to dig through folders. We’re going to slam metaphorical hammers. We’re going to probably use obscene language. And we’re going to get it back to about where we were. We’re going to get entrance attires and entrance title belts back. We’re going to get the moves back. And we’re not going to lose the spirit of WBPLW.

So bear with us, please. Work in progress.

WBPLW News and Rumors

With the Babyhands Conspiracy folding in CarnEvil to its ranks, your intrepid Halzikar may begin building a team to take on the evil menacing WBPLW.

Someone stole Lieth Scarma’s warming rock again. Lady Red says she didn’t. Swearsies.

Iden’s head has almost returned to its original shape after the fateful stomps at Solstice Slam.

Despite our repeated attempts, we haven’t gotten in touch with the rights owners for what we want for Chippi’s entrance, so I guess go watch some Grado entrances on Youtube.

Enmascarados have held on to the WBPLW tag belts. They celebrated their most recent win with some of Abuela’s famous churros, provided by the abuela of El Hijo del Veta Jr.

No one has called for additional belts to be added to WBPLW. Good. I don’t wanna add more.

If you want to add a character to WBPLW, message me through Discord. I can’t promise anything about how they’ll perform or how often they’ll get used, but I’ll add them in.

We’ll see you next time!
